TWANTE A small town that is well known for its pottery manufacturing and cotton weaving.Twante can be reached by public local ferry boat to Dala Jetty the other side of Yangon River or RV Mahaythi Yangon River Cruise through the Twante Canal. A ride on the canal offers contrasting images; from the buzzing chaos in Yangon to the provincial calmness of the countryside only a few minutes outside the capital. Visit around the town by the Horse cart or once across, a one-hour drive by local taxi will take you to TWANTE. The road is extremely bumpy and you should be ready for an uncomfortable yet very interesting ride, which provides a glance of life on and along the famous Twante Canal. After a visit to an old Mon pagoda SHWESANDAW PAGODA, visit to the pottery area where a large part of the population in Twante is engaged in production pottery. Walking through the many workshops where locals are busy moulding pots, we will be able to observe this very traditional craft. Return to Yangon by local taxi and ferry or directly by the RV Boat. Return to hotel. BAGO Only one and half hour drive from Yangon by Coach and about two hours by train to 16th centaury once flourished port city of Second Myanmar Dynasty; ancient Mon Capital Bago (Pegu). On arrival in Bago, Pay visit to 124 meter high Shwe Mawdaw Pagoda enriched with Mon style architecture inlaid with diamonds and is Bago's golden landmark. Then visit to 65 meter long SHWETHALYAUNG reclining Buddha built in 994 AD is revered throughout Myanmar as the most beautiful Reclining Buddha. And then, Visit to Local Market and observe the ways of life at rural area. Take a look at woodcarving, and then see KALYANI SIMA ORDINATION HALL. Visit also MAHAZEDI PAGODA with its impressive bell-shaped stupa and Hinthagone Pagoda where you can have a chance to observe the Nat (Spirits) Dance on the right hand side of the stairway to Pagoda. Afterward, Just outside Bago, Unusual and impressive Kyaik Pun Pagoda, built by King Dhamma Zedi in 1476 A.D is in the form of four 30-meter high gigantic Buddha images all in sitting back to back with the posture facing the four cardinal points of the compass is only a few hundred feet off the Yangon-Bago road. Being extensively excavated Kanbawza Thadi, the famous palace of King Bayinnaung (1551-1581 A.D.), the founder of the Second Myanmar Empire, will be observed. KYAIKHTIYO Very Early Morning, about 4 hour drive from Yangon through seemingly endless paddy fields to the small town of Kyaikhto and on to the 'base camp' of KINPUN. Upon Arrival, take a local truck up a curvy and winding road about half way up the mountain. (Private and charter trucks are available at extra costs – please ask your guide to arrange). From there, walk up the path, all visitors have to walk up the remaining 4 km (500 meters in altitude) on steeply tracks to the legendary 'Golden Rock'. (The uphill path takes around 1 hour and those unwilling, or not fit enough to walk can hire four porters to carry them in a sedan chair). The climb offers fabulous views over the surrounding countryside and the opportunity to make friends with the many local people who make the pilgrimage to KYAIKTIYO. On the incredible position of boulder built precariously on top of the mountain, this famous legendary; golden rock pagoda is Myanmar’s most revered pilgrimage centre. Weather permitting, particularly beautiful sunrise or sunset views from Mount Kyaiktiyo are amazing. The season of pilgrimage is from October to May. EXTRA ECO Myaing Hay Wun Elephant Camp (2Days / 1 Night) Early Morning, drive off from Yangon by coach. It is 96 km by car from Yangon, 13 km of unpaved road and 7 km of forest road is the location of 10 acres wide elephant camp about 1hour drive from Taik Kyi District. Observe the daily routine of Elephants, their lovely nature, mutual relationship with their trainer (mahout). Take pleasure on feeding them banana, tamarind and sugar cane and ride around the forest camp seeing the beauty and its atmosphere where Elephant, Gaur, Banteng, Barking deer, wild boar, Hare Wild cat, Green Peafowl, Ruddy shell duck, Hill myna, Blossom-headed parakeet, Pheasant, Red jungle fowl, Quail, Dove, Duck, lesser tree duck, Butterflies, Moths, Snakes, Monitar lizard, Ground lizard, Grass lizard and Chameleon are present. The visitors can visit Pyinkadoe plantation, wild elephants capturing techniques and training and fishing as recreation activities. ***If you are thinking about night stop at there, the accommodation is very simple and only camps or village’s houses are available. Tour Program Moe Yun Gyi Wetland Sanctuary for Birds Lover (2Days / 1 Night) Nightstop is better for the birds’ dreamers. Depart from Yangon in the Morning as it is located 112 km from Yangon and just only three hour drive to this Moeyungyi wetland is situated in Bago Division. It was a water storage reservoir in 1878 but the reservoir changed naturally into wetland with the extending of 40 square miles which have high wetland conservation value many years later. An area of 103 square kilometers, Moeyungyi is a vital shelter for both resident and migratory waterfowls. Every year, millions of birds usually fly from the northern hemisphere to the south along the East Asian- Australian Flyway to escape from winter. They stop to rest and feed in Asia. So the flyway contains a network of wetlands and Moeyungyi is one of them. According to census at Moeyungyi revealed that there are 125 species of water birds including 70 species of migrants. You can have a chance to watch the birds in the early morning and evening such species like Little Grebe, Grey Heron, Sarus Crane, Asian Open- Bill, Ruddy She duck, Purple Swamp hen, Spot – Billed pelican, Pheasant Tailed Jacana, Black Winged Stilt, Great Cormorant, and about 26 Species of butterfly etc., can be seen abundantly. You can make a boat trip around here and there for birds watching and also can watch from the bird watching tower. The scenery and weather is fantastic. *For the Night stop Birds watchers, there has very limited some little house boat. HOLIDAYS PARADISE CHAUNG THA There can be reached by coach approximately 6 hours from Yangon through Pathein just 51 km to the west of Pathein. An alternative route is an overnight steamer trip from Yangon, along Twante canal up to Pathein and then a one and a half hour drive by coach to Chaungtha Beach- this makes for an interesting trip! The beach curves inwards in the shape of a crescent stretching for nearly a mile. Besides savoring scenic beauty, you may go sightseeing in the neighboring villages and study fishing industry, the livelihood of the local people. A stroll in the village enables you to see their ways. The islet is formed by oysters and shells carried and piled up by tidal waves. At least one night stop is better for the sake of Visitors’ convenient. NGWESAUNG BEACH This silver sand and blue sea beach, one of the most beautiful sports, in the world is very popular among Visitors! About 15 km long Ngwe Saung beach nearby Chaungtha could be reached by car (about 5-6 hours drive) from Yangon, or by a tourist Double Decker river boat that would make an overnight trip (but sometimes the boat would not run if they did not have enough bookings). Now, the new domestic air carrier Air Bagan has started flying to Pathein and Ngwe Saung on a regular basis. It is about a 25 minute flight to the city of Pathein. Like Ngapali Beach, the beauty of the beach is unspoiled and you can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday at crystal-clear blue sea water and white sand beach and also visit to small fishing villages and local markets, explore the countryside by bicycle or enjoy a boat trip to the magnificent offshore islands bordered by tall, green palms. For night stop Visitors, there are newly constructed bungalows with local flavor but equipped with modern facilities. NGAPALI BEACH It is a very popular beach among the Visitors especially for the honeymooners! Located on the Rakhine coast, near the small town of Thandwe, it is an unspoiled beach, stretching about 6.4 km and offers the blue-green crystal sea at Bay of Bengal, white sand and swaying palm trees as far as the eye can see has long been a favorite seaside destination for domestic and foreign visitors as Myanmar best-known beach resort. All along this coast are lies Asia's undiscovered paradise with a blessing because the beaches remain remarkably pristine. There are no loud beachside bars, no rows of suntan-oiled bodies basking in the sun and no vendors pressing you to buy souvenirs. There is an 18-hole golf course about 15 minutes' drive from the beach and an elephant camp near the town of Thandwe which is an interesting excursion for those who tire of the sun and sand. You can also visit to nearby a couple of fishing villages which are interesting places to visit, either by bicycle or by car. Ngapali Beach is a great place to end a Myanmar tour while relaxing with water, sun and sand amidst peaceful surroundings. |
